Last March of this year, the action star Robin Padilla finally had the opportunity to give his blessing to the marriage of her eldest daughter Queenie Padilla and her Pakistani husband, Usama Rashid Mir. Queenie is Robin’s daughter with former actress Liezl Sicangco. She was a former actress as well, but she quit showbiz for her religion and is now managing her own Muslim clothing line in Dubai.
The two have been married for almost five years now and has lived in Dubai ever since then. This was the only time that Queenie was able to come back to the Philippines after her marriage. We are all aware that Robin is now a Muslim, and with her daughter marrying a Pakistani who is a Muslim as well, her daughter has converted to Muslim as well which Robin treats as a blessing that her daughter is one with her in his religion.
The two went home to have the traditional “pamamanhikan”, which is a traditional Filipino custom where the man asks for the permission to wed the woman. Despite being late, at least they still had the opportunity to meet the man who is now going to take care of his daughter.
The action star is now a grandfather to the baby girl of her daughter Queenie who gave birth last July 25. Queenie posted a few photos which were censored for the privacy of her little girl. She says in her post that she is very thankful to the Almighty Allah for a healthy baby.
She says that as much as she wants to share to everyone the details of her daughter, she values her child’s privacy and so she would like to keep things private as much as possible. The baby is her firstborn with her husband Usman who is based in Dubai.
They are still thinking about the full name of their baby, but they would surely share it as soon as the two have decided. At first she was expecting for a boy, however even though she got a girl, she is very thankful for her little princess who is now making her and her husband extremely happy.
But becoming a grandfather for Robin does not stop there for Queenie’s sister; Kylie Padilla is also giving birth this July, which is her child to fiancée Kapuso star Aljur Abrenica. Hopefully her delivery will go well and may the God bless those babies.
