Early this year, Kapuso star Kylie Padilla confirmed that she was pregnant with Aljur Abrenica’s child. Someone apparently guided her in the course of her pregnancy and that is her stepmother, Mariel Rodriguez, who is also now a mom to her first child with husband Robin Padilla. Despite her role as a mother herself to her baby, she made her way to visit and take care of Kylie after giving birth to baby Alas Joaquin.
The Kapuso star's mom is currently in Australia and is taking care of her siblings that is why even if her mother wanted to go to her daughter, she could not and Kylie definitely understands that. As a result, it was Mariel who was there for her through everything, especially during her pregnancy and because of that the two are now very close and Kylie once described Mariel as her best friend.
Kylie even shared her gratitude to her step mom in a previous interview with Smart Parenting. Padilla got very emotional as she thanking Rodriguez for staying by her side through everything. She even shared that Mariel has done so much for her in her pregnancy and is still with her through it all. Furthermore, her stepmother Mariel, texted her every day and was making sure that she was alright. Mariel also gave her advice on what a pregnant woman should eat and do, which according to Kylie, it made her life so much easier.
Surely, Mariel is not only a hands-on mom to her daughter Isabella, but is also a figurative mother to her husband, Robin Padilla’s, daughter which is very admirable. The action star also told ABS-CBN in an interview that his wife was very much involved in Kylie’s pregnancy. Mariel was the one who organized Kylie’s The Little Prince themed baby shower. After Kylie’s delivery, Mariel came to visit her and take care of the newborn as well. In fact, reports say that Rodriguez gave the new mom some advice.
