Kapamilya child star Onyok Pineda said his goodbye to the hit series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” earlier this year but despite him being at the peak of his young career, he left the show which got many of his fans wondering why and surely missing him a lot.
Rumors even began circulating that his mother had something to do with his decision to leave the show. Mary Ann Nulos, Onyok’s mom, was allegedly been in various issues pertaining to the show’s production crew. A lot of netizens blamed Onyok’s exit from “Ang Probinsyano” on his mother, which they claimed that she ruined her son’s showbiz career just for the sake of her own ego.
It was even stated on the rumors that Onyok’s mother allegedly complained about her son’s work schedule. According to this rumors, she would allegedly get mad if the child star finished shooting late so the production decided that it would be better if Onyok just left. Mary Ann, Onyok's mother, finally broke her silence about these issues in an interview with PEP.ph to let people finally know what really happened behind the scenes.
According to Mary Ann, she revealed that Onyok left the show so that he could focus on his studies. The child star needed to adjust to school life because he will be attending regular school from then on and she decided that being in set would not be totally good fir the child and that is why she decided for the kid to stop filming and to start focusing on studying.
The show’s production crew merely wanted to give Onyok a rest from work so he could prioritize his studies and they did not intended to leave the kid out off the show. His mother stated that Onyok was a mainstay on the show and he was home schooled during those times. She also said that there was no tension between the show’s production crew and herself, stating that she frequently asked of when tapings would eventually end, so that the child could get some rest and have time for his studies.
In an interview with Coco Martin, the actor supported Mary Ann’s statements, where the popular actor says there is no bad blood between the show’s crew members and Mary Ann. The actor is happy for Onyok because he got to see him grow up and now that the child wants to pursue his studies, then they are glad to give him that opportunity. He saw how the child, Onyok Pineda, through his earnings from the show, was able to buy a house and a car for his family.
His mother is very grateful for the show for providing her son with a lucrative career opportunity. Saying that the show has done so much things for the child and is thankful for that. However, maybe this is not the time for the child to fully pursue on becoming a star and perhaps on the verge in becoming a good student.
Onyok’s mother also said that she gave the “Ang Probinsyano” execs proper notice regarding her son’s departure. She clearly did the official thing to do like talking to executives and management to formally say goodbye as he leaves the show. Regarding her son’s future, Mary Ann said that all the current saving of the child from becoming a child star were all saved up and the child also has a trust fund. Their house and car are in fact fully paid and they nothing to worry about rents, and just has to be concerned by the monthly bills which is surely can be handled by his parents well.
