During the opening of the new hangout place in town which is District8, the gastropub that is owned by various celebrities including the “King of Hearts” and “Teen King” Daniel Padilla, the “Unkabogable” Vice Ganda, “It’s Showtime” host Billy Crawford, PBA player James Yap, and a number of other big celebs. James was then interviewed and bombarded with questions about his relationship with his son Bimby to previous wife, the “Queen of All Media” Kris Aquino because of the issues regarding his new son.
The press asked the Rain or Shine player how long it has been since he last saw his son Bimby and James jokingly told the press if they really wanted him to answer that question. Then James asked to repeat the question for him, where he straight-forward answered to the press that it has been eight months since the last time they got to see each other.
James then narrated: "After nung pumunta sa bahay nung New Year… actually mag-overnight sana, hindi nakapag-overnight dahil ang taas ng fever ni Bimb. And then dinala ko sa St. Luke’s, so dun nag-New Year si Bimb.” In fact, the court already issued visitation rights for James to spend time with his son but James said that the visitation rights is of no use to him. James stated it was not even being followed and it was supposedly to be done every Friday.
When the press asked why, James sadly told them “Alam mo, sa totoo lang, mahirap kasi pilitin yung sarili, di ba? Mahirap pilitin yung sarili mo na ayaw naman sa ‘yo… alam mo yun?” It is like he was indicating that his son Bimby was the one who does not like his own father. However James as a father, sincerely hopes that when Bimby is in the right age where he can make his own decisions, he hopes that Bimby will eventually come to him and make their connection as a father and son again.
James said to the interviewers: “Sana. Ako, naghinhintay na lang ako na, kumbaga… ilang taon na ba si Bimb, 10? So, sana pagdating ng 17, may desisyon na siyang sarili na, kung gusto niya ako makita, kung gusto niya ako makita na tatay niya, anytime dito ako. Or kung tatanungin mo ako kung [ipag]siksikan ko pa ang sarili ko? Kasi ang hirap, e. [Ipag]siksikan mo ang sarili mo, tapos wala namang development, parang maano ka rin… Kumbaga, sorry sa word, magsasawa ka rin, kasi masasaktan ka lang.”
As he was asked why he did not contact his previous wife, the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, he said: “Wala akong number sa kanila. Si Mic ang may number sa kanila. Si Kris ang nagbibigay ng number, bawal daw kunin.”
