
Korean dramas are surely a huge hit not only in the Philippines, but also around the world. However invasion of the Korean dramas began in the 2000’s when GMA aired, “Bright Girl" and since then, the fever has grown gradually. Another famous series that took the hearts of many audiences is “Endless Love” starring Song Hye Kyo, Song Seung Hun, and Won Bin. As time passes, these dramas continue to make huge hit in the country, that television networks are now creating Filipino adaptations of the series such as, “My Girl”, “Full House”, “My Name is Kim Sam Soon”, “49 Days”, “All About Eve”, “Baker King”, “Stairway to Heaven”, “Temptation of Wife”, and “My Love From the Star”.
In fact, aside from Korean series, Filipino loves their own made films as well. Fans were excited when it was announced that there is going to be a Filipino remake of “Miss Granny” under Viva Films. They became more thrilled when it was announced that Sarah Geronimo will play the lead role. The film actually goes about a 70-year-old woman who suddenly came back to her 20-year-old body. It was actually a huge success having earned more than $51 million.
With that, fans are very eager to know who else will be a part of the movie. Recently, it was announced that James Reid will be playing the part of Sarah’s grandson. The actor will act as a member of a boy band. The two may have never worked together before and so seeing them together will be refreshing to see on-screen. It is set to hit the cinemas in November and in addition, the film was also adapted in China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, India, and Japan.
Meanwhile, James Reid also has other things that keep him busy. He also has an upcoming movie with on and off screen partner Nadine Lustre. The actor in fact? will also play the lead role in the re-imagined version of Pedro Penduko which is also under Viva Films.
