Comedienne Cacai Bautista broke down in tears during her guesting in ABS-CBN's morning talk show, 'Magandang Buhay' hosted by Karla Estrada, Melai Cantiveros, and Jolina Magdangal. During her interview in the show, they talk about her very meaningful past where she recalled how she started her career in the showbiz industry as Lea Salonga's wardrobe assistant.
Cacai suddenly turned emotional when she started talking about how Lea Salonga served as an inspiration to her but not just in her future career but also in her life where she was most touched by the broadway diva. She started by telling her story that she just finished a workshop in the province and that was the first job that was allocated for her in Manila. Knowing Lea Salonga, Cacai was very much excited on the idea of working with her. However she had one problem and that was because she had to speak in English which according to her it might make her nose bleed.
The comedienne also recalled how she wanted to enter the musical theater because of the way Lea served as an inspiration to her that is why the idea to be in one was a dream for her. She said crying, that she was very moved of the talent and dedication the broadway diva had. According to Cacai, only a few people know of the reason why she never gave in theater and in showbiz and that was because of Lea Salonga. She said that she had many mentors and Lea as her mentor, were one of the few people who really inspired her to the heart and core.
Cacai also talked about how good of a person the broadway diva Lea Salonga is and how far she was from what people think of her. She even stated that in all of her shows, Lea has never been late even though at a time she had almost 80 shows to be in and that she was the only one who had the chance to be near the diva. She also said that from Lea's intimates up to every single thing that she wore, she was the one who had to handle all of her stuffs. She also added that in every show, Lea Salonga would pick up anything that the fans would throw on the stage, just so she could lessen the work of the staff.
Recently, Lea Salonga expressed how proud she was of what Cacai has become now and all of her achievements to go with it. She says that she is very much proud that she was able to work with someone as hardworking and dedicated Cacai was. She is very much happy whenever she sees the comedienne was able to shine on her own.
