Heroic flight attendant Sheila Fredric stopped a case of what it turns out to be a human trafficking incident.
Sheila was a 49-year-old flight attendant who works for Alaska Airlines. Just like any other adult on their job, she wants to do things properly and do her job well. But in this incident, she did something to save a human life which is beyond her call of duty.
She was in a flight from Seattle to San Francisco where she thought every thing was as usual like the other flights she has been in. At the time that she was serving drinks to the passengers which was her duty at that time with another flight attendant, something caught her attention. She thought of how strange that a then teenage girl dressed strangely was with an older man who was dressed too well for his companion.
Strange as it can get, the man got defensive as the flight attendants were talking to him and his companion. As the her co-flight attendant was talking to the man, Sheila trues to get the attention of the girl and mouthed the word 'bathroom' where thankfully the girl seemed to understood as she nodded.
Sheila then wrote in a piece of paper on how she could be in any help for the girl. As the girl and the man made their way to the bathroom area, naturally the girl was only allowed to go inside the stall and the man had to wait outside. Sheila never left her post and wished that the girl has found the note that she left. Then as they made their way back, immediately Sheila went inside the stall and saw the girl's handwriting saying, 'I need help'.
Sheila immediately alarmed the pilot who told the authorities at the airport right away. Fortunately, the girl was safe and was indeed a victim of human trafficking. The man was arrested as soon as they landed in San Francisco.
And now the girl is free and back with her family thanks to Sheila who did an extra mile for someone who looks like she was in need. This incident happened way back in 2011 and since then flight attendants are being trained in case matters like this were to happen again. Indeed, Sheila became a hero in the sky, who saved a life of a young girl.
