One of the most beloved love team that has been together for more than a year after now are Kapamilya artists and prime loveteam James Reid and Nadine Lustre, or more popularly known as ‘Jadine’. The thing about them is that the couple revealed that they became an official item last the 11th of February 2016, which makes them an on and off screen couple which is totally winning the hearts of many. They have been all over the showbiz from television shows, movies, teleseryes, music videos and many other more that truly showed of how good they are being together and are totally madly in love with each other.
However, did you know that James had a long-term relationship with singer and actress Ericka Villongco before dating Nadine Lustre?
Erika Villongco is one of the acoustic duo Krissy and Ericka who popularized the pop ballad 12:51. James and Ericka lasted for three years, and broke up with totally no reason at all. They were not that famous yet back then so their relationship was pretty private and who better ti tell the tale than Erika herself. According to Erika, they were steady for more than three years and then they eventually broke up badly. She revealed during a presscon interview in 2014 that they had a bad break up but did not dig in deeper to the details of it.
In a press conference of the film "Relaks, It’s Just Pag-ibig", that Ericka was a part of which featured in the lead roles Sofia Andres and Inigo Pascual, she gave little details about their break up. However in a separate press conference, she finally shared her thoughts and the happenings about her separation with James.
They had a steady relationship for almost three years and a half, however they kind of drifted apart each other. According to Erika, she wishes that they had closure and that they had the opportunity to talk. She wishes that she was also able to say her side of the story and now that she was sharing it at the press conference, it was her first time telling her side. She now claims that she has already moved on and it has been almost been five months from when she thought she could not and she says that she is much happier now. The only regret is that she wishes that they were able to end civilly or like friends because it is somewhat hard for her that every day in social media she see his name all over and she feels regret and sad about it.
Ericka also admitted that she and James were supposed to talk things over, but it never occured as the latter was busy with his upcoming movie and that it would be better that way. All she wishes now is that maybe someday, they will have the opportunity to talk and be friends once again. According to Erika, they have bumped in to each other a few times but they never talked. The two have common friends but when they are in an event together they don’t really mind each other and just look at each other and that’s it. The singer-actress also shared that she would not mind if James and Nadine end up together because she thinks that Nadine is very nice and very down to earth. She also said that she was a very warm just like James.
Even though bad things happened, she still thinks of James as her soulmate and if given the chance she would gladly be happy to rekindle her love with the actor. There were no regrets because according to her they spent a lot of times together and people saw how the truly love each other. But now that James has found new love, she wishes them both all the best.
