REVEALED TOP 10 MOST HIGHLY PAID AND RICHEST PBA PLAYERS !!

 

The history of basketball began with its invention in 1891 in Springfield, Massachusetts by Canadian physical education instructor James Naismith as a less injury-prone sport than football. The game became established fairly quickly and grew very popular as the 20th century progressed, first in America and then throughout the world. Now it is one of the most played sport in the entire world and people can’t just get enough of it. Since then local, intercontinental, international leagues of basketball had originated in order for people to have matches with other people all across the globe.

According to spin.ph, According to PBA director of operations Rickie Santos, league rules stipulate that a player under contract with a PBA team should make no less than P50,000 a month. Unlike in the NBA, the pro league doesn't allow 10-day contracts for players, with one month the minimum duration of a contract under the Uniform Player's Contract (UPC) which the PBA requires players to sign.

Playing basketball professionally indeed is worth the pay, but getting the pay is not as easy as it may seem. They have to go through hard trainings and has to win competitions to gain their pay. But so after their win, basketball players are one of the highest paying salary in the world if you play professionally, where for sure they are living the lives as we can see.

Here are 10 of the highest paid and richest  basketball players here in the Philippines.

Asi Taulava
He is the oldest active PBA player at 43, is now guaranteed of a live playing contract up to age 45, having just signed a two-year contract-extension deal with the NLEX Road Warriors. The Fil-Tongan behemoth is to get P10.08 million in basic pay or the PBA maximum monthly salary of P420,000 up to the end of the 2017-18 season.

Jason Castro
He is the continent’s No. 1 point guard who said to be receiving a monthly salary of P420,000—the maximum under individual salary cap rules—plus won game, by-phase and championship bonuses at TNT Ka-Tropa.

Calvin Abueva
He plays for Alaska Aces of the Philippine Basketball Association PBA. He was picked second overall by the same team during the 2012 PBA Draft and is nicknamed The Beast due to the all-around threat he brings at both ends of the court, he dominated the nation's collegiate ranks by posting excellent numbers during his tenure with the San Sebastian College – Recoletos Stags in the NCAA. He is the first player in history in any major league in the Philippines to finish as leader in points, rebounds, and assists in one season.

Stanley Pringle
The 27-year-old Filipino-American  cager is credited with having steered the Warriors to their first ABL title  in 2012. They were headed for back-to-back championships but Pringle was sidelined by an injury the following season and was unable to see action for some time. According to an inside source, Pringle’s original asking price of  $16,000 had been submitted to his prospective team. Later, this amount was increased to $20,000. Globalport governor Erick Arejola said they are bound by the rules of the PBA and can give Pringle only a maximum monthly salary of P150,000.

Arwind Santos
He was rewarded with a three-year contract extension worth P15.1 million following key roles in San Miguel Beer’s two-championship run in PBA Season 40.

James Yap
James Carlos Agravante Yap Sr., popularly known as James Yap is currently playing for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Known by his nickname Big Game James, he had played for the Star Hotshots for twelve seasons winning seven PBA championships before being traded on 2016. He is also a twelve-time PBA All-Star through 2004 to 2015.

Paul Lee
The 6-foot Lee, who was acquired by the Hotshots in a blockbuster trade with Rain or Shine for veteran and former two-time MVP James Yap, inked the deal that nets him a max monthly salary of P420,000 on Draft Day.

Mark Caguioa
The deal meant the 36-year-old former league MVP would be back for a 16th straight season for the Kings, who he helped end an eight-year title drought recently by winning the season-ending Governors Cup. It was not a max deal Caguioa signed for the team though, but still close to the P420,000 salary a player can receive at the most per month.

Greg Slaughter
He was selected first overall by the Barangay Ginebra in the 2013 PBA draft. Sports commentators and scribes call him GregZilla because of his apparent heft and height.

June Mar Fajardo
His first three seasons in the PBA had been very rewarding for Cebuano hardcourt star June Mar Fajardo. Now, he's looking forward to another three prosperous years with the San Miguel Beermen. The 'Gentle Giant' from Pinamungajan, Cebu is set to renew his contract with the San Miguel franchise anytime next week that will make him wear still the Beermen uniform until 2018. With the biggest salary a team can give a player is currently pegged at P420,000 per month, the pact would make Fajardo at least P15 million richer.
