Raul Dillo is allegedly the tallest man recorded in the Philippines, who stands at 7 feet and 3 inches tall. He was a basketball player of University of the East Red Warriors during his college years but was only a member of the training team. He was discovered in the 1994 Palarong Pambansa. He then played for the San Juan Knights during his MBA stint but was not able to have good quality minutes.
Instead of basketball, he pursued to become actor and due to his stature, he usually gets the role of a kapre or a giant in films. He has appeared in “Spirit Warriors” (2000), “Banyo Queen” (2001), and “Super Inday and the Golden Bibe” (2010).
His name made the headlines once again when life story was featured in “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” on their July 23, 2017 ,episode. As he was gone in the industry, he was reportedly looking for his mother and siblings for almost four decades now.
According to the interview on the show, despite Raul being one of the tallest men in the Philippines, Raul has not yet reached his ultimate highest dream which is to see his mother whom he has been searching for almost 37 years now. Every child longs for the comfort of their mom, and Raul can't help but think of where is his mom who abandoned him.
Raul grew up in Milagros, Masbate, where he has three siblings. He was only 6-years-old when their mother left them with their father who never came back ever since she left. They got the real reason why their mother abandoned them with their father.
According to Raul, there father was a good man however when their mother left, his father could not handle the sadness. Their father gave him and his sibling to their uncle to be taken cared of, for almosy a year which made them somewhat hated their father. But when their father died, he told himself that he will search for his mother.
The show helped Raul to locate his mother, which apparently was in the Quezon province. It turns out that Raul has siblings on his mother side but sad to say his mother died ready last February 20, 2014. The real reason to why their mother left was because their father used to beat their mother when he was drunk. So their mother decided to move away and take all of their children, however Raul was left behind because their father got him as their mother was leaving.
Despite not having the chance to meet his mother, fortunately he has now the chance to reunite with two of his other siblings to whom he got separated and now they are a big happy family once more.
