As President Rodrigo Duterte conducted the State of the Nation Address (SONA) occurred last Monday, July 24, a lot of people had been giving out their opinions with regards to what Duterte has accomplished altogether with his future plans.
One of them is the "Queen of All Media" Kris Aquino, who posted her own opinion with regards to President Duterte's SONA on her social media account specifically in Instagram. She posted a short video of some of the President’s points in his SONA that she agrees with and some photos of taken during the SONA along with the song originally sang by singer Noel Cabangon entitled "Kanlungan".
However some people started to lash out at Kris for her remarks. One user said that Kris was playing safe to get at the good side of the president. The user also said that he/she prefers the SONA of former President Noynoy Aquino who was the brother of Kris. Another user said that Filipino people need someone who can stand against the people who use their power for abuse. The user also said that it does not suit Kris to be a "trapo" as she is an Aquino. Finally, the user stated that the nation now needs someone who can stand for what is right and fight for it no matter what happens.
It is pretty common to receive words from bashers or might as well just anyone on the internet if you are famous. But what people did not expect was the reply from the queen. Kris replied by saying that if the user was a real person, she was asking the users for an intelligent discussion and may as well do it over chowking, nachobimby or potatocorner, which are her endorsements, and asked everyone to refrain from insults and base things with facts.
Meanwhile, other people agreed with Kris' statement and complimented her for being such an open minded person about what is happening in our country right now. She may have connections with the former administration, but it is a good thing that she does not take aides easily. She base her opinions and decisions with real facts.
