Last June 20, 2017, the lady who was dubbed as 'the most talented girl in the world' also known as Charice Pempengco, came out to the public and revealed a new identity and name as a man.
Jake Zyrus, is now happy on where he is. He had undergo mastectomy where his breast was removed and is taking hormonal injections to achieve man like features as well as to stop his menstruation. Now he feels somewhat complete in his own body and even plans to go for sex change.
With that a lot of supportive fans are there for him through his journey as the world is just starting to accept him. But others are not agreeing to his decision of change, they think that Jake wasted his God-given talent.
But despite what everyone might say to him, he won't care for he wants to be a role model to those who are afraid to come out.
"Ginagawa ko po ito para sa mga tao na hindi kayang gawin pa [ang mga ganitong bagay]. Gusto ko pong maging inspirasyon para sa kanilang lahat.”
“Sila iyong isa sa dahilan kung bakit naglalakas-loob po ako na gawin lahat ito dahil gusto ko ring malaman nila na hindi sila nag-iisa, na kung kinaya ko eh kakayanin din nila.” This is Jake's statement according to an interview with Boy Abunda in his late night show, "Tonight with Boy Abunda".
He even participated in ABS-CBN's musical variety show, the All-Star Sunday Afternoon Party (ASAP) on June 9 for the first time after his revelation.
He performed a musical tribute for Martin Nievera, who was celebrating his 35th year in the industry, where he sang Martin Nievera's hit song, "Each Day With You" in a duet with KZ Tandingan.
This just proves that Jake isn't afraid to come out and show people that he is proud with his decision for he only did the thing that would make him happy.
