Surely everyone knows of the one and only 'Dyosa' of the Philippine television and that is Anne Curtis. The Kapamilya actress has indeed proven her worth and credibility to her fans, as she has been in the industry since she was young and is still making her name today. She is one of the most prominent female actresses here in the country who is versatile and down to earth. But most of us do not probably know that Anne Curtis is more than just the pretty face and the talented actress that she is, in fact she is beautiful inside and out for she is a community worker as well.
In 2015, She became a celebrity advocate for UNICEF Philippines. UNICEF is an agency of the United Nations devoted to serving the world's children. UNICEF began providing assistance to the Philippines in November 1948. Since then the organization and the Philippine government worked hand in hand as partners in protecting Filipino children. UNICEF Philippines has more than 60 people working to promote and protect the rights of children. They aim to provide the best quality of life for every Filipino child through programmes that help them survive and flourish. They implement programmes covering education, health and nutrition, disaster risk reduction and emergencies, HIV and AIDS prevention, child protection, communication, and local policy and institutional development.
Even before she became an advocate, she has been a supporter of the group since 2009, where she has joined numerous activities of the said organization like when they visited parts of Leyte which were devastated by Typhoon Yolanda. Anne Curtis also launched the “Heroes for Children Run” marathon for the benefit of one of UNICEF’s campaigns. She also wrote a children’s book titled “Anita, The Duckling Diva” last February 2016, in collaboration also with the said organization. But things for her good deeds did not stop there.
If you check out her Instagram feed, you will see her updates from her field visit to the province of Bobon, Northern Samar where she recently visited as well in cooperation with UNICEF and Cebu Pacific Air, to visit health centers in the province. They were there to teach the local community about the importance of clean water, sanitation, hygiene, health and nutrition; where she also learned quite a lot by joining the locals.
All of Anne’s recent activities earned massive praises from her fans and followers on IG, in which she has the most number of followers in the country mind you. Truly, Anne is one of the most active celebrities who really does care for the people who are less fortunate and is willing to make out her way to help them. She is a woman of beauty inside and out which is definitely not a surprise that she is loved by many.
