It is truly heart breaking for parents to see their own child suffer and pass away before them. It seems unfair for parents to go through such depressing phase of life knowing that they still have to accept the fact that their child will be gone so soon.
A father from province Sichuan in China, Zhang Liyong had to go through this unexpected event of their life. He dug up his own daughter’s grave to prepare her for her passing.
Zhang Liyong is a farmer in Sichuan and spent all his savings to her daughter’s medication, to find out that their daughter was suffering from Thalassemia.
Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder in which the body makes an abnormal form of hemoglobin. People who suffer from this disease has a good chance of survival but only through blood transfusion and this treatment is quite expensive.
Because Zhang Liyong and his wife could not afford the life-long treatment needed for their daughter Xinlei it was with a heavy heart that they had to stop with her treatment and accept that Xinlei will have to leave them soon.
And so, Zhang Liyong spends more time with their daughter in her grave. Zhang said, “I could only come up with this idea - bringing her to play at this place. This is where she will rest in peace. All I can do is accompanying her every day,"
