Automatonophobia is a fear of human-like figures or statues, Recently in Sta.Cruz Laguna there is a speculation circulating the town that last month there is a statue of a saint that miraculously opens his eyes.
The statue is been taken care of Bongkan Family, the statue is called ‘’Senyor Santo Sepulcro’’ also known as ‘’Lelong’’ according to Adelyn she borrowed the statue of ’Senyor Santo Sepulcro’’ for the requiem of her deceased son, the prayer started at 8am in the morning, everything was normal at first but at 2pm someone noticed that the statue’s eyes were open, the girl named Joy started to cry and call Adelyn, Adelyn went to see the statue became startled and shocked . When the crowd saw that the eyes were opened they took pictures of it but after 2 hours the statue once again closed his eyes. The family were left clueless about the incident, but they believe that it was a miracle from ‘’Senyor Santo Sepulcro’’. Some neighbors says that it is not unusual because they said that the statue is really miraculous.
In year 1950 there is an evidence that ’Senyor Santo Sepulcro’s statue were seen standing beside banana trees and also it was seen standing beside the deepwell of the church , lastly there were evidences that ’Senyor Santo Sepulcro’s statue was seen standing infront of the altar. 65 year old aling Fe proved that incident, according to aling fe she was then 10 years old when she and her grandma went to the church to pray but they were shocked when they entered the church and saw ’Senyor Santo Sepulcro stand on its own and released oil that is allegedly heals sickness.
’Senyor Santo Sepulcro’s statue was owned by Pamatmat family in 18th century it was found at the back of the church and now was turned over to an Aglipayan church.There were a lot of witness that can prove the miraculous healing and acts of ’Senyor Santo Sepulcro until now, but there were experts and people who doesn’t believe in it.
