Casiguran Aurora in the mountains of sierra Madre, there is an urban legend that talks about a large snake that can swallow a whole person, that story was not proven until a photo taken in 1970 at Brgy. Cozo Casiguran Aurora circulated online where you can actually see two ‘’Igorot’’ holding a huge snake, in the second photo you can see 7 persons holding the snake’s skin. 1962 Thomas Headland a foreign anthropologist went to Casiguran to study how ‘’Igorot’’ live and for that reason he lived in the mountains of Sierra Madre with them for 24 years.
One day he saw the dead snake with the ‘’katutubo’’ A Reticulated python about 23ft long 6.9 meters. He was shocked and frightened and took a photo of it. The snake that was caught in Aurora was said to be the 3rd largest snake in the world. Its weight can max up to 75kilos and 7 meters in length.
