UNIVERSITY INSIDE THE JAIL IN DAVAO !!


When one does not have or cannot access formal education in schools, ALS is an alternate or substitute. Alternative Learning System is a learning system in the Philippines that provides a practical option to the existing formal instruction. The Philippine government and the Department of

Education gives the inmates a chance to finish elementary and high school but recently they are now expanding opportunities for inmates as they get to Higher education.
Reports have revealed that the construction of the country’s first formal college inside the prison is now ongoing.

The college will be offering Social Studies, English language, Education, Psychology and Information Technology Courses also vocational and technical courses will be offered in the near future.



The college in Davao City Jail can accommodate 200 inmates per semester, According to Jail Chief inspector Pio Rosero in a GMA News interview.
