Earlier this month, a snubbing issue between Kapuso stars Marian Rivera and Andrea Torres had sprouted it was last March that Marian did something during the variety show Sunday Pinasaya. Fans speculated that what happened was out of jealousy and the reason behind this incident that Andrea is the leading lady of Marian’s husband Dingdong Dantes on the primetime series "Alyas Robin Hood."
During a press conference held last May, Marian spoke up and assured fans through the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) that there it was not a rift between her and Andrea. The primetime queen said: "Hindi, kasi ang pagkakaalam ko, wala kaming problemang dalawa, bilang ate-atehan niya ako. Hindi rin naman lingid sa kaalaman ng marami... at saka kapag may problema siya, sa akin din naman siya lumalapit. Maging adviser niya,”
Prior to this statement, PEP asked Andrea about this but she just answered: “Wala, walang issue.” The actress was reportedly evasive about the topic and in a separate interview, Marian’s response was "Siguro, kaya ganun din ang sagot ng bata, kasi hindi rin niya alam ang isasagot. Siguro, ayaw rin niya ng intriga. Sinabi naman yata na wala, so wala na lang. Patayin na lang natin.”
However, the issue has been reopened to the public because of floating articles that netizens had started. The Superstar Marian spoke out again straightforwardly, for the actress is known with a strong personality. When asked if she was jealous, she forthrightly said “no.” She said: "Definitely, no. Walang dahilan para magselos ako. Ang alam ko, maayos kami ng asawa ko, masaya kami. Nakakapagtrabaho siya [Dingdong] nang maayos na kasama nya si Andrea, so dun pa lang makikita na walang dapat iproblema talaga,” Marian said. “Please ha, tama na,” she quipped.
On the other hand, Andrea also shared her sentiments about the rumors and that there is nothing going on and that she has nothing to fear except God. Andrea said that: "Para sa akin, wala naman po talagang problema. Wala naman akong ibang kinatatakutan. Si God lang kinatatakutan ko,” Andrea said. Andrea also assured that she’s professional and focused on her work despite being the talk of the town. “We came here to work, ang focus mo lang kapag pumupunta ka sa set is yung work lang. Hindi yung nag-iisip ng kung ano-ano pa,” she said.
