Recently Joel Cruz, a big time fragrance entrepreneur who owns the perfume line “Aficionado Germany", revealed his statement with regards his preferred state of Charice Pempengco, who is now known as Jake Zyrus. Despite being part of the LGBT (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders) community, he said that he very much prefers Jake Zyrus voice before the singer’s transformation – that is, when Jake still identified as female named Charice Pempengco.
Joel Cruz seemed to voiced out his thoughts in a recent interview with PEP.ph which were contradicting to what the LGBT community stand for. The entrepreneur said that if he had chosen that name for a stage name, then things would be alright. However with his decisions to fully change everything officially, then the young star should be ready for it.
Jake Zyrus and even way back when he was still Charice, he used to endorse Joel Cruz’s perfumes. Jake may have heard of what Joel had to say to him and did some step backs and made out a statement to answer back to everyone who is doubting him. However according to a source it was reported that Jake initially wanted to change his name for the sake of having a different identity on-cam but eventually, he fully transitioned into a male both for his personal and his professional life.
Joel further said, that his choices has positive and negative sides to it. After all we cannot please everyone, because everyone has their own mind set and he has to accept everything because he is a public figure in which people are already part of your life. In fact, according to Joel, according to his knowledge, he heard that Jake's own grandmother is against this idea and that is a part of the change as well. Family and relatives should be talked to because they are the essentials in life so you have to make them understand as well.
He also shared his apprehensions about Jake’s career path and said that this would be affected by his name and gender identity change. He said that Jake build his career as Charice, so every decision that he will make will surely affect his old career where people may accept or reject him, for who he is now and he must accept everything of what people has to say.
However, he added that he is very much supportive of where Jake is now, if the singing sensation’s transition truly makes him happy then the entrepreneur said that he fully respect his decisions. If the change is what is keeping him going, then there is nothing wrong with that if it makes him happy. The important things is that he is happy and he continues to make people happy through his talent. He says to all the people to give the guy a chance and atop all the hate, because society today will really judge you, so you have to be ready about discrimination.
According to Joel, he really does prefer Charice over Jake, however it is his decision so might as well we all have to respect that. Last May 2017, Joel Cruz revealed that he just had another set of twins conceived by a Russian mother through in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Despite being a homosexual, Joel Cruz obviously still valued fatherhood and cherishes being a father to his now two sets of twins.
