It’s no secret that Kapamilya actor and singer Jericho Rosales is a good-looking guy and that is why people might not be too surprised to know his son with former model Kai Palomares, Santino Rosales, is truly a heartthrob on his own as well. The 17-year-old Santino isn’t into showbiz at the moment but is making a name for himself in the world of modelling and fashion. He strut his stuff and walked the runway at Ayala Style Origins: Emoticonic fashion show, along with the newest batch of models from the Philippines such as Tricia Santos, Marco Suarez, and Shermaine de Ramos. When he is not working in the runway, you can find him studying at Collegio de San Agustin, in his senior year in high school.
According to the interview done by PEP last August 17, Santino is in fact, one of the newest members of Professional Models Association in the Philippines (PMAP). Jericho’s son is really tall who is standing at 6’1. The young model revealed that his mother inspired him to join the modelling industry. Santino said: “This year, I joined PMAP which is Professional Models Association in the Philippines, and I’m doing shows currently. Right now, I’m doing the series for Style Origins. People know my dad as someone from showbiz, but what they don’t know is my mom was also a model before and that’s why I got influenced to be a model because through her ways, she showed me how it’s very presentable, how it’s very classy. It just appealed to me and it clicked to me right away.”
Although his father Jericho Rosales has a different wife Kim Jones, Santino reveals that he often bonds with them both and says that he is pretty good and alright. They actually get together every weekend, as much as they can and her also revealed in the interview that he isn’t interested in getting into showbiz. Santino revealed: “I’ve seen the way the industry is, and I’ve seen the way it gets to you and it doesn’t really appeal to me. I’d rather stay outside the limelight and also because of competition. People will start comparing me with my dad like what happens with other people, and I don’t want that.”
The young man is however very thankful for the opportunities he’s been blessed with and remains very humble as well. According to Santino: “It’s fine, I use it to my advantage in the sense of opportunities because I understand that not everybody has the same opportunities that I have. But then, you also have to remember that you have to keep you head down and be humble. I’m grateful for it, I’m grateful that my parents are very supportive of me, my mom and my dad.”
Santino happens to be very athletic as well and often plays football for two teams. The first team is his school’s football varsity team while the other is the Kaya Futball Club – a Makati -based professional association football club. He said: “I play football, I play for my school team and then I also play for a club called Kaya FC. I’m in the under 17 team.”
