As a regular broadcaster and a radio host, Raffy Tulfo had encountered with all manner of people as much as time lets him. He has been exposed to several situations that range from heartbreaking, to touching, to even hilarious events in one's life. However, one guest on his radio program, a cancer patient, was memorable because of his deep admiration for the broadcaster and was very vocal about it.
Recently, Raffy discovered that the cancer patient has tragically passed away. A video commemorating his departed guest was uploaded on Raffy Tulfo’s official Facebook page and currently is 327,000 views as of now. It has also received over 22,000 reactions and more than 4,000 shares. According to the video description, the cancer patient visited Raffy Tulfo at the Radyo5 or 92.3 News FM broadcast booth and not long after that he died within this year.
On May 30, 2017, the cancer patient Roland Rico, appeared on the radio program because he wanted to get up close and personal with his idol, Raffy Tulfo. He said that he was already in the fourth stage of cancer but despite that he wanted to meet his idol. Rico added that he came from Masbate and endured the hardship of travel just to see his idol.
Raffy asked Rico regarding his life like how many more children does he have and Rico answered that he has three children. He added tearfully that with his condition, he would not be able to see them grow anymore. The video then shows Raffy meeting one of Rico’s children, a girl. The father claimed that they are financially challened, which prompted Raffy to immediately volunteer to give them anything that they needed and the daughter of Rico said school supplies.
Then said Raffy to Rico that he will be giving the man a plane ticket then twenty thousand so they could buy school supplies for his children. Rico said that his children gave him the strength to persevere through his difficult and painful condition as a cancer patient. Unfortunately, fast forward to July 26, 2017, Rico’s wife gave Raffy Tulfo a call, informing the broadcaster that her husband has tragically passed away after a long battle against cancer.
The broadcaster was told that Rico’s family owes the funeral parlor a huge amount so the radio host volunteered to settle the fee himself. He gave a call to the owner of the parlor and explained that he was willing to foot the bill of the man. As we can see from the pictures, Rico’s family was extremely grateful to Raffy Tulfo for his kindness and generosity and will be forever in owe of the kindness that the man has showed them.
