With the come out of Charice Pempengco as Jake Zyrus, numerous of shows have been asking for her appearance on their show to introduce his new identity. Recently, Jake Zyrus guested in the morning “Magandang Buhay” which is hosted by Melai Cantiveros, Karla Estrada and Jolina Magdangal. As curious as everyone, the hosts couldn’t help themselves to ask about Jake’s new singing voice and style.
One of the hosts particularly Melai asked of what is now the preference of Jake in terms of music. Jake answered, that he is open to all types of music but he is currently fond of the music of Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Eric Santos and Michael Bolton. Now this is where it gets a little bit awkward, Melai asked Jake if he could still songs of Whitney Houston, which were songs that he could sing effortlessly.
Jake calmly answered that he could no longer sing the way he used to be, however if he really had to, then he would sing it in a different version or range. But Jake did not escape the audience from giving them a sample. He gave a brief sample of an All at Once performance in a version which was way more masculine in which Jake sang confidently.
Despite all the changes, he is proud to perform and sing his heart out in his new body. The girl that we once may not be here physically, but she was reborn in Jake and the talent and passion that we all knew of is still there. The audience gave him a round of applause after his wonderful performance. Some may have commented that they missed his old voice, but they are surely loving his new voice and style as well.
