Lady Frere, South Africa a strange creature frightened the villagers as they found a sheep who gave birth to a critter that looked like a Half human and a half beast. Residents believe that it was sent by the devil and there was a witchcraft that is involved in this phenomenon.
The photo of the beast taken by the villagers spread in social media fastly, that caused the experts from the Eastern Cape Department of Rural Development to conduct some tests.
Dr.Lubabalo Mrwebi Veterinary Services Chief director admitted that the lamb really looked like a human being at first glance but it is not entirely human. He also confirmed that the photo is not edited or a hoax.
The photo is real, but the condition of lamb is not caused by the devil, according to him the Lamb was severely deformed and was infected by a Rift Valley Fever at an early stage of its formation. Mosquitoes and Midges carry the virus usually at rainfall which might be the cause of the mother sheep to be infected.
“It is worth noting that a sheep has 28 pairs of chromosomes while humans have 23 pairs which is important in dispelling the myth that a union of a sheep ovum and a human sperm can lead to a development of a viable life form,” he said.
Although they further asses the condition of the sheep, Villagers at the area still think of this as a form of witchcraft.
