If you remember Jiro Manio during his younger years, he was one of the most talented young stars in his generation. Jiro was a passionate young artist who was seen in Filipino Drama films and the blockbuster Filipino comedy movie Ang Tanging Ina.
Fans love his presence whenever he was seen working in Drama films and he was noticed on the movie ‘Magnifico’ where Filipinos were captured by his acting skills at a very young age. Because of this Jiro won a number of acting awards for playing the role of ‘Magnifico’ and this includes The Best Actor Award from the Gawad Urian, the country’s most prestigious movie-award giving body.
He then later appeared to a number of ABS-CBN Shows and even independent films, many believed that this young man is on his way to a brighter future.
But in 2015, Jiro was seen at Ninoy International Airport (NAIA) and it seems that the Multi-awarded actor is homeless and roaming around for food and clothes. After the photo went viral Ai Ai Delas Alas, Jiro’s Mom in the movie ‘Ang Tanging Ina’ came to his rescue. Ai Ai volunteers to take care of Jiro and even went to Japan to look for Jiro’s Japanese Father.
As reported Jiro was sent to rehab to have a proper care and medication as requested by Ai Ai, this is not the first time Jiro was sent to rehab, back in 2008 he underwent rehabilitation for drug addiction.
Jiro was released in 2016 after staying six months in the facility. Ai Ai was very happy to see him out of the rehab and excited to turn his life around. The 23-years old actor claims that he is now “healed.” He said on an interview, "Sa palagay ko naman, pag kaharap ko na ang mga tao, ano na ako ulit -- back to normal na ulit yung sitwasyon, kumbaga, na ganun pa din yung pagiging professional ko dati,"
But just recently rumors has it that Jiro was sent back to the same rehabilitation center, many reacted to the news and was curious what was the reason behind it.
Jiro was apparently brought back to the rehabilitation center in Bataan last June 26 to finish his aftercare program. He stayed in the rehab for another month because he was an acting junior staff in the aftercare program, one of the staff in the facility said,
"Ang usapan namin, magre-report sya para tapusin ang aftercare program. Natapos na kasi ni Jiro ang in house program. Sumusunod naman siya at ang pamilya sa usapan.Hindi lang namin ma-hire si Jiro na magtrabaho at mag-stay for good sa rehabilitation center dahil gusto niyang makasama ang kanyang pamilya."
