Mr. Mariano Que started his business from a bottle of sulfathiazole worth 100 pesos, he re-packed the antibiotic and sell it more affordable for everyone ‘’tingi-tingi’’ from then he was able to buy his own push cart with medical supplies which he patiently used to sell and roam the city.
After a he collected enough money he started off his first establishment at bambang street on march 1 1945. Mr. Que was known for his health care concern for people and established different programs to help those people in need. Bantay y kalusugan'' was one of his charitable events.
Recently, Mr. Mariano Que, the founder of the Mercury Drug Corporation passed away at the age of 96, no further details was released according to his death but their official facebook page encouraged everyone to donate to charity instead of giving flowers to the former CEO.
Mercury Drug was founded in Manila in 1945 and successfully branched out 1,000 outlets nationwide.
Mr.Que’s daughter Vivian Que Azcona is currently the corporations CEO.
